Re-employment Services and Eligibility Assessment (RESEA) - MassHire Greater Brockton Career Center

The Re-Employment Services and Eligibility Assessment (RESEA) Program is funded by the US Department of Labor to help Unemployment Insurance (UI) claimants return to work faster.

Once you have received your first unemployment check, you will receive notification to participate in the RESEA program. Over a 5-week period, you will virtually connect with staff at our Career Center twice – once for a Career Center Seminar (CCS) followed by an RESEA Initial Orientation Meeting and – the second time, for an RESEA Review.

What are the program requirements after I attend a Career Center Seminar and my initial RESEA meeting?

Complete and show us your Work Search Activity Log for each week you have collected benefits. You must either apply for or research three jobs each week. The following are examples of job searching techniques:
- Networking: Every time you ask a friend, former co-worker, relative or neighbor if they have heard of any job openings.
- Walk-in: Walk into a company and inquire if they are hiring, and apply if possible.
- Web: Internet job research, or complete an on-line application or emailing a resume.
- Job Fair: Attend a job fair.
- Telephone: Call potential employers inquiring about job openings.
- Mail: Mail a resume.
- Newspaper: Search and/or apply for jobs via “help wanted.”
- Interview: Interview a job search, either by phone or in person.
- Career Center virtual visit: Attend one of the Career Center’s virtual workshops.
Create a resume and cover letter.

Between the Initial RESEA orientation and the RESEA Review, claimants should complete the free services to which you were referred. Examples include:
- Sign up for the weekly MHGBCC HotJobs list
- Attend one of our many free virtual workshops or events
- Send us your resume to myresume@masshiregbcc.org for job matching possibilities and email it to the person with whom you will meet for your RESEA Review.
- Explore the local economy at the Greater Brockton Workforce Board’s website
- Connect with a Career Specialist or one of our partners for language assistance, SNAP, or rehabilitation help.
- Develop your own Re-Employment Toolkit.
